REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Efforts to increase cooperation between Indonesia and Sudan in the energy sector and to ensure food security are crucial to sustain the relations between the two countries, according to a Sudanese envoy.
"Establishing cooperation to ensure food security and in the energy sector would be the right step to strengthen the ties between Indonesia and Sudan, while encouraging other sectors to develop," Sudanese Ambassador to Indonesia Abd Alrahim Alsiddiq told Antara here on Monday.
He pointed out that cooperation between the two nations continues to grow in various fields, including economy, politics and human relations.
In addition, the Sudanese envoy invited entrepreneurs and related parties in Indonesia to invest in his country, promising various forms of incentives to those interested.
Alsiddiq further noted that to invest in Sudan, the Salim Group is exploring cooperation in agriculture for a variety of plants.
"We have some one million hectares of land in Sudan for the Salim Group. The company will send its engineering team to oversee the location," he remarked.
