REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUDUS -- Indonesia has set a target for its Muslim fashion industry to emerge as an inspiration to the world Muslim community, according to fashion observer Irna Mutiara.
"The move has been the result of an agreement among several ministries," Mutiara said after the inauguration of a fashion school here on Wednesday.
The idea to place Indonesia at the center of the Muslim fashion world has been backed by the fact that Indonesia has a large Muslim population. With this, creative industries involved in the country's Muslim fashion will grow rapidly, she observed.
According to her, the Muslim fashion trend has been growing, encouraging designers to come up with better fashion ideas.
