REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Bermanda Basri said that the Law of inter-religious harmony was very important, because, the law was legal protection that must be obeyed.
"The law is the legal protection. So, if it for example there is action outside the law, there are consequences and the punishment," he said, on Wednesday, July 22.
He explained that if there was a law, all parties which involved should comply it. Thus, there was no longer a term of recriminations. “Muslims like this, Christians like this and others. This is the cause of intolerant conflict. The existence of law become positive jurisdictions which can we hold together,"he said.
"Everyone freed to embrace their respective religion, and carrying out orders of their religion," He said.
Basri affirmed that the Law of inter-religious harmony was very important for publication. It was because the law was a legal protection that made all religions calm in the run their worship respectively.
