REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Secretary General of the Central Board of Nahdatul Ulama (PBNU), Masduki Baidlowi, affirmed that the Twitter account @khmaruf_amin was fake. The fake account was using the photograph of KH Maruf Amin who served as chairman of Advisory Council of PBNU and the chairman of Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI). "Please do not be fooled by the account," he said in Jakarta on Monday.

According to Masduki, KH Maruf Amin, as an individual nor chairman of MUI and chairman of Advisory Council of PBNU does not have Twitter account. KH Maruf also did not active in social media. "The Twitter account under the name of @khmaruf_amin does not belongs to KH Maruf Amin, therefore all of the contents can not be justified," he said.

Masduki reiterated that the falsification was clearly violate the law. He asked the police to investigate the perpetrator. "Please let the people know that the account was fake," Masduki.
