REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, REMBANG – The Nahdliyin lost a great figure as KH Hasyim Muzadi who died on Thursday. The role of ulemas from Bangilan, Tuban, was recognized in the national and international level. It was stated by the Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Said Aqil Siradj when confirmed during the National Meeting of Nusantara’s ulema in al-Anwar Islamic Boarding School, Sarang, Rembang, Central Java, on Thursday.
He said Hasyim was ulema who had played his role well. The leader of al-Hikam Islamic Boarding School became a role model in Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). His dedication was entirely given to NU, including his involvement in the branch office to the central board. "His leadership is undoubted,” he said.
Said admitted that KH Hasyim Muzadi also Muslims’ protectors, a mentor, and a companion of the Nahdliyin. He raised the name of NU in the national and international level. “He spends his energy, his mind, and his wealth to develop NU, as I had accompanied him in PBNU for a long time,” he added.
