Wow… No piracy in Gorontalo

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GORONTALO – Gorontalo local government commits to fight and prevent the breech of intellectual property rights (Haki). It comes to life by engaging with Haki Directorate General of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights on Saturday to implement no piracy territory in Jalan Letjen S Parman, the center of electronic trade in Gorontalo.

 

While praising Gorontalo, the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Amir Syamsuddin said, the implementation of no piracy territory was the first in Indonesia. "Other regions should follow Gorontalo to respect intellectual property rights," Syamsuddin said.

Gorontalo Mayor Adhan Dambea admitted that piracy occur in Gorontalo. As the goods sold without tax, such trade hurt the income of local government. While the Head of Gorontalo local office of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights Mardjoeki explained, the mechanism to exercise “no piracy policy” was conducted random inspection to markets and trade centers. A store then received a sertficate stated that the store was only sell licensed products.
