REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Jakarta Police Department would not be a mediator between Lady Gaga’s promoter and opposition as it was not police’s job, the Spokesman of Jakarta Police Deparment, Rikwanto, said. Police’s duty, he continued, was to maintain law and order.

“It is clear that it is not within police domain,” he said on Thursday.

His statement is following the promoter’s demand that police could mediate them with the groups opposed to Mother monster’s concert. Rikwanto said pros and cons phenomenon was likely to happen in democratic country. But he reminded the expression should be carried out based on the valid regulation.

“Police will consider the development of situation and condition on issuing the Gaga’s concert permit,” Rikwanto said.
