REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LOS CABOS - Indonesia already has a model for the implementation of inclusive financial system. The system was sufficient and the country did not need to adopt from others, the Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) said.

"We already have our own model. What Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI, a local bank in Indonesia -ed) and others do are amazing," SBY said in the press conference in Los Cabos, Mexico, on Monday at local time.

Indonesian government, representing developing countries, is committed to encourage the inclusive finance to be the main agenda in the G-20 meeting. SBY expressed his concern over the G-20 meeting if the forum only talked about global finance. "There is a forgotten area left: Small Medium Enterprises (SME) and capital issue," he explained.

Since 2007, Indonesia has micro loan system with governmental guarantee so that millions of SMEs can get easy access to the capital. 

He emphasized the importance of maintaining the balance of loan allocation between big enterprises and SMEs. "It is not fair if most of the capital pour to the big enterprises, while the SMEs are our economic buffer," he said.

The president specially invited Princess Maxima of the Netherlands to cooperate in inclusive finance by saying that sharing experiences with other countries were always useful. "We will learn the best practices so that we can get the benefit," he said.

Earlier Princess Maxima appreciated Indonesia for the attention towards SME by giving them loans as a form of inclusive finance. According to Coordinating Minister of Economy, Hatta Rajasa, Princess Maxima asked Indonesia to make a good coordinating mechanism in the implementation of business loans.
