REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BATAM - South Korean company, NK Co Ltd, plans to build a 40 million USD gas cylinder factory in Free Trade Zone of Batam, Indonesia. The investor had approached Batam Regulatory Agency (BP Batam) to collect the information about the requirements and incentives, the official at BP Batam, Ilham Eka Hartawan, said.
NK Co Ltd is manufacturer of gas cylinder using green technology. "They also cooperate with Panaran Gas Powerplant to supply electricity in Batam," Hartawan said on Tuesday. He said that BP Batam had provided several options for the factory’s location.
NK Co Ltd plans to sell its product to Taiwan, Middle East, and Malaysia. The company initially planned to build the factory in Surabaya. However, they choose Batam due to fiscal incentive in Free Trade Zone.
