REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian state-owned airline, Garuda Indonesia will increase flight frequency from Jakarta - Amsterdam via Abu Dhabi to six times a week in June. Garuda will also provide flight from Jakarta - Perth through its partnership with Etihad Airways. 

"To enhance our service, Garuda will increase flight frequency from Jakarta - Amsterdam via Abu Dhabi to six times a week starting on June 21, 2013," Executive Director of Garuda, Emirsyah Satar, said on Sunday.

Garuda also announces that it will provide flight from Jakarta - Perth through the partnership with Etihad. 

Early January, Garuda cooperated with Etihad Airways to provide six new routes to Europe and Middle East; Frankfurt, Brussels, Milan, Dusseldorf, Munich, and Bahrain.

"We have provided the new routes since early January," Satar, said. The partnership allows the passengers of Garuda to fly with Etihad to the new routes.

Garuda has become the marketing carrier of Etihad for 13 destinations. Besides the new six routes, there are also Abu Dhabi, London, Paris, Manchester, Moscow, Athena, and Muscat. Meanwhile, Etihad has become Garuda's marketing carrier for flight to Denpasar, Manado, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Makassar, Amsterdam, and Abu Dhabi.

According to the CEO of Etihad Airways, James Hogan, the cooperation provided significant benefits for customers of both airlines as it minimized travel time to reach their destinations. This strategic partnership, put into effect last October 28, also opens the access for Etihad to six million potential Indonesian tourists.
