Indocement and China will build new unit

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR - One of Indonesian major producers of cement, PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, signs an agreement with China's Tianjin Cement Industry Design & Research Institute Co. Ltd (TCDRI) to build the 14th production unit in Citeureup, Bogor, worth 5.5 trillion to 6.5 trillion IDR.

"The agreement is signed by Executive Director of Indocement, Daniel Lavalle. and General Manager of TCDRI, Xu Peitao," Secretary of Indocement, Sahat Panggabean, said on Wednesday.

TCDRI, one of the earliest large scale industrial design institutes, will supply equipments for the building of the 14th Indocement factory which has the capacity of 4.4 million tonnes cement per year. The new factory is expected to operate in the third quarter of 2015.

The new manufacture is to anticipate the high domestic demand of cement and maintain its competitiveness. "The new factory will meet the latest technology. It will be the biggest factory in Indonesia," he said. By operating the new factory, Indocement can produce up to 25 million tonnes cement per year.
