REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Apple, BlackBerry and Samsung still dominate in Indonesian market of communication devices or gadgets.
"While the level of gadget sales in the second tier is occupied by a number of brands, such as HTC, Sony, Nokia and other local brands," President Director of Juragan Seluler Indonesia, owner of e-commerce juragangadget.com, Alrosa Fahri said on Sunday.
Fahri said that 40 percent of gadget sales was dominated.
By product, iPhone sits at number one followed by Samsung (30 percent), and the rest (10 percent) are HTC, Sony, Nokia and some other local brands. Samsung's best-selling product on the market is the Galaxy S4 as the number jumps to 32 percent. Samsung Mobile records high sales due to installation of Android products.
Samsung successfully fill a niche market by providing gadgets from a range of 800 thousand IDR to eight million IDR. For BlackBerry, although sales of high end gadgets like Z10 and Q10 variant are not too skyrocketing in Indonesia, generally this brand records good selling especially for its low end products
