Minister: SOEs may proceed buyback shares without GMS

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of State Owned Enterprises, Dahlan Iskan said he had instructed a number of state owned enterprises (SOEs) to buyback their shares. He said the buyback might proceed without holding general meeting of shareholders (GMS).

"The buyback started yesterday (on Wednesday) and most of them (SOEs) have conducted it," Iskan said on Thursday.

Indonesia Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) on Wednesday was closed higher at 4,218. However on Thursday, CSPI was closed down at 4,171.41, decreased 1.11 percent or 47.04 points compared to previous close.

Related to government's plan to provide economic policy package, Iskan was sure that SOEs would be included in the program. SOEs would be in government's macroeconomic policy coordination.
