REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- The deputy chairman of Financial Service Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners Dr Rahmat Waluyanto stated that OJK recruited a total of 500 scholars to strengthen supervision of financial institutions and non-bank industry.
"The supervisors will be placed at OJK regional offices," Rahmad said here on Monday.
According to him, nationally there are at least 4,000 units of banks and non-banking services institution that will receive OJK supervision.
Therefore, qualified human resources (HR) are needed to perform integrative supervision, he noted.
Apart from that, (OJK) said Indonesia`s capital market had a big challenge in the face of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
"The challenge being faced in the run-up to the AEC in 2015 is far bigger than what we have faced this year," Nurhaida, chief executive of the OJK`s Capital Market Supervision Affairs, said here on Monday night.
In the face of the AEC market, Indonesia has to have a playing field level equal to those of other ASEAN members like Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, Nurhaida said.
