Soekarno-Hatta airport train to integrate all terminals

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANGERANG -- The Indonesian state-owned airport services company, PT Angkasa Pura will build the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train that will integrate every terminals.

The Director of Airport and Technology Development of PT Angkasa Pura II, Salahudin Rafi, here Friday said that the integrated building train station will connect the Terminals 1 and 2, as well as the other transportation modes.

He explained that the seven-storey integrated building will be equipped with a parking lot capable of accommodating 20,000 cars.

Later on, the Tangerang Train Station tracks will be connected to the integrated building train station at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Therefore, the Terminals 1 and 2, as well as the Cargo Building will be connected to each other.

"The passengers can use the public transportation modes, such as trains, taxi, bus, and others that are available in the integrated building. The transportation system in the building will be operated by Automated People Mover Systems," Salahudin said.

He added that in order to improve the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport's services, PT Angkasa Pura keeps completing the airport with facilities and infrastructures, especially in terms of the transportation system.

Meanwhile, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Spokesperson, Yudis Tiawan, said that the construction of development of Terminal 3 Ultimate in the airport has been 60 percent completed.

The development of Terminal 3 includes Baggage Handling System to distribute the baggage by computer system that is more secure than the old system.
