REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The banks in Jakarta traded Indonesia's rupiah at Rp12,430 per US dollar on Tuesday morning or it regained five points from its previous rate of Rp12,435.
Analyst of Woori Korindo Securities Indonesia Reza Priyambada said the rate of rupiah against the US dollar tended to get stronger at the end of 2014 despite the strengthening rate of the greenback in global currency market trading.
The Indonesian Government's plan to announce its new policy on readjusting the prices of subsidized fuels had brought a positive sentiment to rupiah, he said.
However, the strengthening value of rupiah against the greenback remained shadowed by the recovery of the US economy, he said adding that the US would release several economic data showing better consumer confidence and claim on positive employment rate.
