REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian currency rupiah regained some of its lost value closing stronger against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The currency trade at the 13,275 per dollar in interbank transaction gaining from 13,320 per dollar earlier.
"Low inflation in June was one of the factors giving positive sentiment sustaining rupiah," financial market observer from Bank Himpunan Saudara, Rully Nova said.
Inflation in June was 0.54 percent month to month though rising from 05 percent in May.
Rully attributed the inflation to the Islamic fasting month, saying the prices always rise in fasting month.
He predicted that the inflation in 2015 would be within the target set by the government at around 4 percent.
Meanwhile, an official of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Sasmito predicted the inflation in 2015 would be below the target.
"The impact of the oil fuel price hike would no longer be felt toward the end of this year," Sasmito said. Sasmito.
The success in controlling inflation this year would be determined in June and July, he said.
In July the drivers of inflation are the sectord of transport and education, he said.
