REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo decided to cuts off Suramadu toll tariff by more than 50 percent.

"There was a debate, it should be free or reduced," Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said on Wednesday (3/2).

The authority of the regional government hope this decision could be a good early new year present for the people of Madura and Surabaya, Pramono added.

Governor of East Java Soekarwo said that is a good decision because logistic tariff from Surabaya to Madura quite high.

"The purpose to build Suramadu bridge to increase prosperity in Madura," Soekarwo explained.
