REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned construction company PT Wijaya Karya (Wika) is trying to conclude Rp40 trillion worth of new contracts at the end of this month or about 75.75 percent of its target of Rp52.80 trillion set for this year.
"Till the first week of August, the company has concluded contracts worth Rp22.73 trillion, or about 43.04 percent of the target for this year which was set at Rp52.80 trillion. We hope that by the end of August, the company would have inked new contracts worth Rp40 trillion," WIKA President Director Bintang Perbowo said here on Wednesday.
Bintang is optimistic that Wika will this month conclude new contracts worth Rp17 trillion in the high speed railway project. It is expected that Wika's new contract value will increase to Rp40 trillion or about 75.75 percent of the target this year.
Thus, total contract figure will reach Rp73.47 trillion or 88.94 percent of the total target in 2016, which stood at Rp86 trillion.
"The value of the total contracts in 2016 stood at Rp52.8 trillion plus carry over projects worth Rp33.2 trillion from 2015. This will lead to an increase in corporate profits," Bintang added.
