REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta deputy governor Sandiaga Uno gained criticism from the reporters over his new policy. He tried to limit information given to the media.

"We can not share more details for policies that are still being discussed," Sandiaga explained in National Monument (Monas) complex, Friday.  

According to Sandiaga, policies on Tanah Abang market and provincial minimum wage (UMP), for example, are still immature. He thought it would be better to share the final policy. 

"Therefore, we could prevent distortion of information," he explained.

Sandiaga who is former chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) said, he did not want the governor, deputy governor and the regional apparatus unit (SKPD) to share conflicting statements to the reporters.

Once the policy has been made, related SKPD will explain technically to the media.

He stated there was no prohibition for SKPD to make a statement to the media when the final decision has been taken by Jakarta provincial government. However, the policy under review will not be published to avoid the pros and cons.

"If we want to get feedback from society, we can get it from social media. We also get it from the communities invited to the meeting," he added.

Sandiaga said a number of meetings will still be held privately, especially related to policy discussions. He explained some invited parties who provide confidential information do not want their statement covered by media.

"However, when we reach the final decision, we will also release it to the public," Sandiaga said.
