REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - First Lady Ani Yudhoyono will undergo surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the US, according to presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha. "The medical team from the Allegheny General Hospital has said the First Lady is scheduled to undergo an operation tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30 am local time or 7.30pm Western Indonesian Time," he said here on Friday.
"We hope for your [Indonesian people`s] prayers so that the operation can be successful," Julian added.
However, he did not go into details about the illness suffered by the First Lady. Earlier, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono stated at a press conference at the state palace that the First Lady had problems with her neck.
He said the Presidential medical team had recommended that the First Lady go abroad for treatment. The President added that on June 16 he would pick the First Lady up on his way to Mexico for G-20 summit and the Rio-20 Sustainable Development Summit in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
