REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The 40 million kiloliter subsidized fuel quota on revised state budget would run out on the upcoming November, said the Director of Marketing and Trading of Pertamina, Hanung Budya. The fuel consumption until the end of the year may reach 44 million kiloliter.

Hanung said the fuel consumption in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi had surpassed the quota in the middle of this year. Thus, additional quota is needed.

"Government will fight for it in the House of Representatives," he said.

But, Pertamina guarantees the fuel stock will be sufficient on Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr. He explained that the national stock is safe at least for 18 to 19 days. Pertamina also makes serious effort to distribute the stock evenly. Pertamina Gas Stations are instructed to open 24 hours in 14 days before Eid al Fitr and 14 days after.

Meanwhile, the consumption of LPG is also increasing in around five percent. But he guarantees the national stock of LPG will be safe for the next 17 to 18 days. Hanung said Pertamina rented supertanker ship in Jakarta to guarantee the LPG supply.

Pertamina currently adds 200-250 gas stations in 2012. Pertamina targets the additional 500 gas stations for the next five years.
