Jokowi and US ambassador talk on environment

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - US Ambassador to Indonesia, Scot Marciel, seeks cooperation with Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo or populary known as Jokowi. They met on Wednesday and talked on promising cooperation, particularly on environmental issues.

Marciel said US Embassy had cooperated with Jakarta Provincial Government to tackle pollution in Jakarta. He explained that both staff would discuss the cooperation further.

On friendly meeting with Jokowi, he admitted that they talked on renovation project of US Embassy in Jakarta. He said that the project would be started soon. 

Marciel said that Jokowi was a great governor. "He is full of ideas for building Jakarta. US will support his performance," he said on Wednesday.

Marciel said that he would like to meet with Jokowi next time to discuss on several matters. "But, as a governor, he is very busy," he said.
