REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The former Chairman of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq, will step down from the House of Representatives after he was named as a suspect in bribery related to imported meat.

"He will resign this week," the Head of PKS faction in the House, Hidayat Nur Wahid, said on Monday after visiting Ishaaq at Guntur detention center, South Jakarta.

Ishaaq is currently a member of Commission I at the House of Representatives. Ishaaq said to Wahid that he wanted to focus on solving his problem with Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

KPK arrested Ishaaq on Tuesday night in Headquarter of DPP PKS when he held press conference, while other three suspects were caught in red handed at Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
