REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Jakarta Provincial Government will integrate bus station and train station at Senen, Central Jakarta. Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (popularly known as Ahok) said the integration, dubbed as Transit Oriented Development, would adopt comprehensive city planning and maximize use of mass transit, such as Transjakarta bus.
"Later at Senen Station, people do not need to cross the street. They can pass over the bridge to got to bus or train stations," Ahok said on Friday.
Transit Oriented Development will be undertaken by four companies, namely PT Kereta Api Indonesia (state owned train operator), PD Pasar Jaya (Jakarta City owned market operator) and two public companies, Pembangunan Jaya and Jakarta Propertindo.
Jakarta will also build apartments on land owned by PD Pasar Jaya in Senen area. Ahok added that Transit Oriented Development project would also gradually applied to all stations in Jakarta.
