REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Jokowi's economic team, Arif Budimanta said that the new government would propose the capital expenditure of 160 trillion IDR. The state budget includes for infrastructure and other programs by the elected president Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and vice president Jusuf Kalla.
According to Budimanta, factions and government will hold a budget discussion. The fiscal space has been widened by the strengthening of IDR against USD, from 11,900 IDR per USD to 11,600 IDR per USD.
The House of Representatives and government (Minister of Finance, Bappenas and Bank Indonesia) have agreed an increase of economic growth from 5.6 to 5.8 percent. The fiscal space will be used to support program in 2015 fiscal year.
"We estimated that the additional fiscal space around 20-30 trillion IDR. It can be used for Jokowi's programs," Budimantan said.
State budget plan for 2015 fiscal year reached 2,020 trillion IDR started in January. The value was proposed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to the House of Representative previous month, about 7.6 percent larger than 2014 total spending.
