REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) chairman Neta S Pane asked President Joko Widodo not to ignore the concept of mental revolution when selecting his ministers.
In a written statement on Friday, Pane voiced his concern over the appointment of the son-in-law of Hendropriyono, Major General Andika Perkasa, as the new commandant of the Presidential Security Guards and the appointment of the son-in-law of Luhut Panjaitan, Colonel Maruli Simanjuntak, as commandant group A of the Presidential Security Guards.
"Hendropriyono and Luhut were in Jokowi Success Team. So, their appointments appear like fringe benefits the two retired generals have received from Jokowi," he remarked.
Pane reminded, the essence of mental revolution was upholding the rule of law, improving bureaucratic efficiency, eradicating corruption, and liberating the country from collusion and nepotism.
Jokowi has emphasized that his political concept is coalition without compensation or fringe benefits.
