REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Crime Investigation Department (Bareskrim) of the National Police will question again Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK's) Deputy Chairman Bambang Widjojanto on Monday, a KPK deputy chairman said.

"The next questioning will likely be conducted by the Bareskrim on Monday or Tuesday," KPK Deputy Chairman Zulkarnaen said at the KPK building at the wee hours on Saturday.

He said that the questioning would be conducted with a summons delivered to the KPK in the first place. "The summons will be delivered in the first place to the KPK before the follow-up questioning is carried out."

Zulkarnaen said the KPK guaranteed that Bambang would be cooperative in the next questioning. "We the leaders of the KPK guarantee that Bambang will be cooperative if he is needed for next questioning."

He said it was the guarantee from the KPK leaders that made National Police Chief Deputy Chief Commissioner General Badrodin Haiti agree to release Bambang Widjojanto.

Bambang Widjojanto who was arrested by police on Friday morning was freed early hours on Saturday.

Bambang left the Crime Investigation Department Building of the National Police Headquarters at 1.20 a.m on Saturday.

"I thank the people for supporting the KPK so ar. I also thank the police for having questioned me tonight," he said.

Police have named Bambang Widjojanto a suspect over regional election dispute in 2010.

Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Ronny Sompie said on Friday morning that Bambang, who was arrested on Friday morning, was charged with telling witness to give false testimony at Constitutional Court on election dispute in Kotawaringin Barat, Central Kalimantan, when he was still a lawyer in 2010.

Bambang, who joined the KPK later and became one of five KPK leaders, is not arrested but being questioned by police, Ronny said .

Ronny said police received the report about alleged false testimony only on Jan. 15 and it was backed up by expert opinions and document.

Sompie said there is no link between the Bambang case and KPK naming police Comr. Gen Budi Gunawan, a corruption suspect on Jan. 13.

Budi Gunawan was named corruption suspect after President Joko Widodoto picked him to replace Gen. Sutarma as new police chief.
