REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Bank Indonesia (BI) or the Central Bank of Bali chapter hoped that the younger generation in this province becomes motivators and fosters new entrepreneurs as the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2015 takes shape.
The Head of the Bali provincial chapter of Bank Indonesia, Dewi Setyowati, said here on Saturday that innovative products can be a result of opportunities, and can be products that have a special value and not yet in mass-production.
"Originality must be protected and intellectual property rights also must be protected. In (the name of) creating innovation, do not make existing products in bulk," she reminded.
According to her, the narcissistic stick product is one such innovative product that was apt for the times we live in and was created by a young Indonesian entrepreneur.
Dewi also expressed the hope that the younger generation, as prospective new entrepreneurs, needs to create business opportunities for commodity supply, which is still lacking on the Bali island.
"We have mapped the commodities less available in Bali as petelor chicken, milk and rice."
Being an innovator and having a foresight to exploit existing opportunities is expected to help the micro, small and medium enterprises that are in direct contact with all of the industry, she added.
