REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Jakarta Social Service Office will deploy 333 officers to help secure the 60th commemoration of the Asian-African Conference (AAC) on April 15-24.

"They will focus on controlling those who have community and social problems (PMKS) all over the capital," head of the social service office Masrokhan said here on Wednesday (16/4).

The 333 officers would come from the provincial social service office and five municipal social service offices in the capital, he said.

"The Jakarta Social Service Office will also coordinate with Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers in the capital," he said.

The control would target PMKS on Jalan Sudirman, Jalan Thamrin, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Medan Merdeka and Kuningan area, he said.

Some of the officers had been stationed in designated points from April 15 to 30, he said.

The chief of the social service office said the officers were banned from taking any form of violent act against PMKS while performing their duties.

"The social service officers must always give priority to persuasive approaches and humanitarian values," he said.

The social service officers and Satpol PP officers would conduct routine patrols on the streets where state guests and delegates to the AAC would pass through, he said.

The 60th commemoration of the AAC will take place in Jakarta from April 19 to 23 and in Bandung on April 24.
