REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR), Lukman Edy criticized the statement of Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menkopolhukam), Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno. The Minister said due to dispute between Golkar and PPP, the parties potentially absent from local elections (Pilkada) simultaneously this year.
"I am noted that Mr. Tedjo statement is wrong," said Lukman at the capitol, Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 12.
The politician from Nation Awakening Party (PKB) said, working committee (Panja) of Commission II had a solution for the two dispute parties. He also assured, all parties could participate in the local elections (Pilkada) which would be held simultaneously in December.
"On the previous rule, the court decision was inkracht. So impossible they cannot join the elections. We reveal that ten political parties would participate. About the parties who can participate, we tell it later," he explained.
Previously, Menkopolhukam Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno stated, Golkar and PPP were potentially absent from this year's local elections if they occurred in internal conflicts.
Tedjo said, when Golkar and PPP did not immediately resolve the internal conflicts in the form of dualism management, and then it is a consequence which must be accepted for them to not be able to participate in the local elections.
"That’s the rule. The law said he could not contest in the elections if still there are internal disputes in the party," said Tejo.
