Papua requires meteorology and navigation system

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Flight observer, Alvin Lie, said that airports in Papua requires meteorological and navigational facilities. The meteorology and navigation system is required, so that accidents due to bad weather will not often happen.

“I believe that the weather has dominant effect in flight. Moreover, the weather in Papua is different from the weather in Java,” he said, Wednesday (19/8).

The weather in Papua is easily changed. It can be changed from light to suddenly become cloudy. The contour is also different, there are a lot of mountains and lakes.

"There are lots of high mountains. Hence, meteorology and navigation system is required by the airports and aircraft used in Papua," he said.
