REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, confirmed that he would soon complete the draft of establishment of the National Cyber Agency.
After the draft is completed, it will be submitted to President Joko Widodo in order to obtain legal protection in form of Presidential Decree. The National Cyber Agency will be coordinating with ministries and state institutions that handling cyber crime.
“Efforts to combat threat from the cyber world can be coordinated nationally,” he said, Tuesday (25/8)
As an effort to anticipate the threat to national security in cyber world, Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security have formed Desk Cyber Security and Information Security Agency in 2014.
Luhut said that the draft would be completed within one and a half month. He is also targeting the organizational structure of the National Cyber Agency can be formed in one and a half month.
"So we thought, in October, the structure will be ready. We want all elements are integrated, not fragmented,” he added.
Luhut denied information related to the assistance of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in establishing the National Cyber Agency. The system will be going to monitor all conversation and information from social networking application, such as Blackberry Messenger and WhatsApp.
