REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Budget needed to build Bandung-Jakarta fast train was estimated to reach 55 billion US dollars or Rp 70 trillion. Director of Indonesia-China Express Train, Hanggoro, said 75 percent of the fund was derived from China Development Bank, while the remaining of 25 percent was from four consortium.
"This project scheme is business to business. There is no state guarantee," he added, Tuesday (24/11).
To manage the construction of the fast train, consortium was formed, consisting of PT Wika as leader, then the member are PT KAI, PTPN VIII, and Jasa Marga as Indonesian SOE Synergy. The fast trains will pass along 150 kilometers from Gede Bage Bandung to Halim Jakarta, with doubletrack system.
Hanggoro revealed the fast train produced by China is actually designed to drive up to 350 kilometers per hour. However, for the early stage, the permitted speed is only 200 kilometers per hour.
"With a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, Bandung Jakarta can be take in only 45 minutes. The tariff of the fast train will be around Rp 200 thousand," he explained.
The groundbreaking was targeted to be done in second quarter of 2016. The construction would take three years.
