REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN -- Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) held a roadshow in six major cities of Indonesia. The roadshow aimed to socialize implementation of XVIII Asian Games, which would be held in Jakarta and Palembang in 2018.
"This time, the roadshow is held in Surabaya, Makasar, Banten, Balikpapan, Palembang, and Medan. It is also logo launch event of Asian Games," said KOI Executive Committee, Raja Parlindungan Pane, in Medan, Wednesday (30/12)
He said, Medan was chosen as one of roadshow cities because the achievements of the athletes were great. In 2014 Asian Games, Wushu player from Medan, Juwita Niza Wazni and Linsdwell Kwok, got gold and silver medal.
According to him, through the roadshow, public were expected to participate in the success of the regional multi-sport event in Asia. All preparation and readiness of Indonesia to host 2018 Asian Games would be assessed by International Olympic Committee.
