The draft of the revision is proposed by the ruling Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

A member of the legislation body of the Parliament Risa Mariska from the PDIP faction said the draft had been discussed with 45 lawmakers representing six factions of parliament earlier signing for the revision.

Risa Mariska, a lawmaker from Commission III said the draft of the proposed revision of the law of KPK was in principle the same as already presented in October 2015 with changes in some chapters.

Improvement has been made to reduce controversies, she said, adding the revision is to strengthen KPK and not to weaken it.

She said those not yet accepting the revision would come up with concept as input.

Another member of the legislation body from the PDIP faction Hendrawan Supratikno said the proposed revision of the KPK law has long been a public debate and its academic draft is already available.

According to Hendrawan the proposed revision is focused on a number of points including tapping issue.
