REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MOROTAI -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has highlighted the need to conduct supervision to ensure that infrastructure projects are not neglected.
The head of state visited a solar power plant in Daruba, Juangsa village, South Morotai, on Wednesday.
"However, regardless of what it is called, there should be effective supervision and control of management," the president stated while inspecting the Daruba solar power plant.
President Jokowi found that the plant was being singlehandedly managed and had incurred some damage.
He said the plant's automation system was not working, and hence, it was run manually. The president claimed to have also found a project in Halmahera that had been neglected.
In the meantime, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said remarked that two-third of the Daruba solar power plant was still operating normally.
After overseeing the project, the president and his entourage visited the Trikora Museum in Morotai.
Members of the entourage included Minister Said, Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Chief of the Presidential Staff Teten Masduki, Presidential spokesman Johan Budi, and Presidential staff Lenis Kogoya of Papua.
