REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANJUNG PINANG -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo is scheduled to hold a closed-door meeting with some ministers in Natuna on Thursday morning (23/6).
"Agenda to Natuna is important to accelerate development on the island," Head of Bureau Public Relations and Protocol of the Riau Islands administration Heri Mokhrizal said on Wednesday (22/6).
Heri added, Jokowi never go to Natuna which is border with several countries.
"The Riau Islands Governor will tell about Natuna and other islands. Perhaps President Jokowi wants to see directly," he said.
He denied that visit plan of President Jokowi to Natuna related with claim from China about the South China Sea in Natuna.
"No correlation with these problems," he said.
In fact, Jokowi's plan to Natuna is suddenly. Riau Islands Governor Nurdin Basirun that going to safari Ramadan in Karimun forced to postpone the event.
"Governor is standby to make sure whether the president going to Natuna or not," he said.
Besides to hold a closed meeting with some ministers in Natuna, he said, there is plan to sink fishing boats owned by fishermen who detained recently.
