REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Sandiaga Uno, who is running for the post of Jakarta governor, has pledged to offer a sense of security to the people of the capital if he is elected as the governor.

"Do you want to choose the incumbent Mr Governor Basuki or me instead who will offer a sense of security to the people of Jakarta?" Sandiaga stated here, Friday.

He pointed out that in the upcoming gubernatorial election, it will be the people who decide their next leader.

Sandiaga has been nominated by the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra). The Jakarta regional head election to choose a new governor and deputy governor will be held in early 2017.
