REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- Real Estat Indonesia (REI) of Aceh Province said its members would build 6,000 units of subsidized houses in Aceh as part of the government's program to build 1 million units of houses in 2017 all over the country.
"Thanks God, so far 70 percent of the targets of 6,000 houses for low income people have been built all over Aceh not including Simeulue," Head of the Aceh REI Muhammad Nofal said here on Monday.
Nofal said in 2016, REI built 4,000 units of low cost houses in the province, adding, this year REI plans to build 230,000 units of houses all over the country including 6,000 units in Aceh.
Construction of the subsidized houses with a floor size of 21 sq. meters is carried out in cooperation with the state saving bank, PT Bank Tabungan Negara, he said.
Last year REI built subsidized houses in Aceh, including in the municipalities of Banda Aceh, Lhokseumawe, Langsa, districts of Aceh Besar, Aceh Barat Daya, Aceh Barat, Subulussalam, Aceh Selatan, Pidie, and Aceh Tamiang.
Muhammad Nofal said, this year the largest number of houses would be built in Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh and other districts and cities in the westernmost province of the country.
He said among the potential buyers of the subsidized houses are civil servants with basic salary not more than Rp4 million per month, contract school teachers, contract employees.
