REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KENDARI -- Domestic and international underwater lovers need to be acquainted with the beauty of the undersea volcano in the Indonesian province of Southeast Sulawesi, an expert on coastal zone management stated here, Thursday.
"The undersea volcano, which lies below the South Konawe waters, needs to be promoted to attract local and foreign divers to visit and explore its beauty," Head of the Association of Indonesian Experts on Coastal Zone Management (Mappi)-Southeast Chapter Andi Irawan Nur remarked.
Speaking to journalists here, Nur said that on Wednesday, he had introduced the beauty of this underwater site around the undersea volcano to the members of the province's legislative body.
"We hope the Southeast Sulawesi governor will positively respond to the efforts to promote the beauty of the province's maritime wealth," he affirmed.
Nur stated that Southeast Sulawesi Province's coastal zones are rich in diving spots.
"There are 15 beautiful diving spots in the maritime zones of the province that are located between North Konawe and South Konawe Districts," he noted, adding that the province also has huge potential of natural, cultural, and educational tourism.
