REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Bank Indonesia (BI) held the 10th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2022 at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), 25-29 October 2023. In an opening ceremony today (26/10/2023), BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said a decade of ISEF has brought Indonesia closer to becoming the center of the world's sharia financial economy.

“This is the result of our strong intentions, maximum observance and prayers that God willing, God willing, and at the same time it is the result of all of our work as hamsah washal,” Perry said at the ISEF 2023 event at the JCC on Thursday (26/10/2023).

Since ISEF was established over the past 10 years, Perry said Indonesia is starting to have an ecosystem of sharia finance economy. In particular, the integrated and digitized financial and economic ecosystem of sharia.

“Institutional strengthening and regulation of financial development of the sharia economy conduct nationally and also regionally,” Perry said.

On the occasion, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin also inaugurated the Indonesian Halal Industry Masterplan (MPIHI) and the application of Satu Waqf Indonesia. MPIHI is the masterplan of the halal industry as a reference along with the development of Indonesia's halal industry in realizing Indonesia's vision as a leading halal producer center in the world.

While the Satu Waqaf Indonesia application is an application that will integrate and collaborate nationally the platforms of various bodies or agencies of waqaf and amil zakat in Indonesia. In this way, it can reach society more widely both in mobilizing funds and assets and in promoting sustainable inclusion.
