REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Politika Reserach and Consulting (PRC) expects the 2024 presidential election to take place in two rounds. The forecast is based on the trend of decreasing electability of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka based on the results of the latest survey.
“The electability of the Prabowo-Gibran couple decreased from the November 2023 survey by 47.8 percent to 42.4 percent in December 2023,” PRC Executive Director Rio Prayogo said in an online press conference on Friday (5/1/2024).
In addition, Rio said, a decrease in electability also occurred in the pair of Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. In which, the electability of this number three pair fell from 23.5 percent in November 2023 to 21.8 percent in December 2023.
“While an upward trend occurred in the electability of the Anies-Muhaimin pair from 25.5 percent in November 2023 to 28.0 percent in December 2023,” he said.
Rio revealed that there was a displacement of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) voters from the ranks of the Ganjar-Mahfud pair. The move was due to a variable worsening of Jokowi's relationship with PDI Perjuangan. “It seems as if a drastic decline or mutation of the Ganjar electorate structure has decreased from Jokowi's electorate,” Rio explained.
Rio revealed the 61.7 per cent of the public satisfied with President Jokowi's performance was most distributed to Prabowo-Gibran. The 36.3 percent of people who expressed dissatisfaction with Jokowi's performance were identical to the Anies-Muhaimin pair.
