REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A total of 280 million people boarded TransJakarta in 2023. That number was the highest on record during TransJakarta's start of operations.
“In total during 2023 we managed to serve 280 million customers. This figure is the highest since the beginning of TransJakarta,” said Welfizon Yuza, President Director of PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) during a discussion on the performance of the corporation in 2023 at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (16/1/2024).
Welfizon said that the number of TransJakarta customers during 2022 amounted to 191.4 million. When compared with the number of customers in 2023, the figure has increased by up to 47 percent.
In fact, the number of TransJakarta customers per day doubled from an average of 500 thousand customers in December 2022 to 1.1 million per day in December 2023.
“After the 2020 pandemic, at the beginning of the pandemic we had reached one million customers per day and dropped 80,000 per day,” he said.
By 2023, the figure reached 1.1 million people per day. “The record high postpandemic subscriber count of 1,169,214 dated December 5, 2023,” Welfizon said.
PT TransJakarta also continues to improve services followed by the addition of several routes or the operation of buses. By 2023 TransJakarta could reach 88.7 percent coverage of the underserved population.
“So calculate it from the population data, then everyone from their house a maximum distance of 500 meters has access to the nearest bus stop or bus stop. By 2023 it will reach 88 percent,” Welfizon said.
Welfizon affirmed that TransJakarta continues to provide the best services and strives to provide benefits to the general public by adjusting the scale of operations and services.
In relation to the service routes, evaluations are also carried out every quarter for routes that have low performance, by making route changes (rerouting), route modifications, improving mileage and others.
Then, the passenger per kilometer ratio also increased from 2023 to a target of 1.01 with an achievement of 1.08. While in 2024 it is targeted to reach 1.16.
Similarly with the Minimum Service Standard (SPM), TransJakarta services also continue to increase with attainment above 95 percent.
