REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, said Defense Minister (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto deserved to be promoted to Honorary Army General. Erick said this was not separate from Prabowo's many contributions to the nation.

“Congratulations Mr. Prabowo on the title of Honorary General conferred by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi),” Erick said via Instagram account, @erickthohir on Wednesday (28/2/2024).

Erick said the award was a form of state appreciation for Prabowo. Erick considers Prabowo to be a figure who has an important role in safeguarding the sovereignty of the homeland.

“This is a well-deserved award for Mr. Prabowo's dedication and contribution to Indonesia's military and defense world. Proud! ,” Erick said.

Erick also included a number of moments of himself when he was with Prabowo and Jokowi. One of them was when Prabowo stopped Jokowi, First Lady Iriana Jokowi, and Erick using the Maung tactical vehicle during a visit to the PT Pindad factory in Malang Regency, East Java, on Monday (24/7/2023).

Erick said the early SOEs intensively continued to collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in strengthening Indonesia's defense industry. Erick is committed to encouraging SOEs that are part of the holding BUMN or Defend ID to actively collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in improving the quality of national defense.
