REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of DKI Jakarta stated that the floods that hit Jakarta are more widespread, this is due to a number of overflowing rivers and high rainfall.
“We note that currently flooding occurred in 114 RT (residents' union),” said Chief Executive Officer of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/3/2025).
Data released by BPBD DKI Jakarta at 04.00 WIB states that there are four areas in Jakarta that are flooded, namely South, East, West, and Central Jakarta.
Isnawa said the flooding was caused by high intensity rains that hit Jakarta and its surroundings from Sunday (2/3/2025) to Tuesday (4/3/2025). The high intensity rain caused the water discharge in the Katulampa Dam located in Bogor to rise and caused the Ciliwung River to overflow.
Later, rains that occurred in Jakarta with high intensity caused a number of areas to be flooded.
