REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT TransJakarta has postponed the opening of the new Pondok Cabe-Lebak Bulus route because it has not obtained a service permit from the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ).

“Regarding Route S41 (Pondok Cabe-Lebak Bulus) is currently still in the stage of obtaining the licensing process from BPTJ. Because it is a cross-border route,” Head of Transportation Department (Dishub) of DKI Jakarta Syafrin Liputo said in Jakarta, yesterday.

Syafrin said the BPTJ permit was necessary because this new route crosses the city of Tangerang South to South Jakarta. In addition, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta, PT TransJakarta, and BPTJ are still conducting track surveys.

“Yesterday a trajectory survey was conducted with BPTJ. Next, we need to meet together with Terminal Pondok Cabe and existing operators,” Syafrin said.

Syafrin hopes that BPTJ will issue permits soon in the near future so that residents in the corridor can be served immediately. This is considering that the route is urgently needed by citizens as well as an effort to realize transport integration in the Jabodetabek area.

The route was originally scheduled to operate on Monday (26/2/2024) with operating hours during 05.00 WIB—22.00 WIB. Some of the stopping points include Pondok Cabe, Cirendeu, Simpang Adiaksa, and Poin Square.

Regarding the delay, PT TransJakarta has expressed its apologies to residents who have been waiting for the presence of the route. “Friend Tije, I apologize for the inconvenience. It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the postponement of the opening of the new route S41 Pondok Cabe-Lebak Bulus. We are trying to make this route operational immediately and serve the residents of Jakarta, South Tangerang and surrounding areas,” wrote X @PT_TransJakarta on social media.
