REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- The Steering Board of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka Kindergarten, Khofifah Indar Parawansa supports that the Prabowo-Gibran couple's free lunch program that is being piloted in schools soon be implemented throughout the region, especially East Java (Jatim).
It was to realize the equalization of nutritional fulfillment of children. “If we look at the results of the trials that have been conducted, the menus given to children for the free meal program are very measurable. Ranging from nutritional sources of carbohydrates, vegetable proteins, animal proteins, to vegetables and fruits. All measured calories and nutritional intake,” said Khofifah in Surabaya City, Friday (8/3/2024).
In addition, the governor of Jatim said in the 2019-2024 period, the free lunch program is the government's answer in terms of nutritional fulfillment and supporting child development. According to Khofifah, if the free lunch program is implemented, it means that there will be no more inequality in nutritional intake.
“Because then all of Indonesia can. For example, a child from a family cannot afford it, there will be no more who cannot eat with a certain protein content and nutritional intake, because it has been provided by the government,” said the first female governor in East Java.
Khofifah continued, if there is free milk for Indonesian children. That would be the answer in setting up a golden generation. “Not to mention that there will also be free milk provided. This is a program that answers the challenges ahead in setting up Indonesia's golden generation 2045 so that Indonesia's human resources are smart and healthy,” he said.
The government has held a simulation of free lunch at SMP Negeri 2 Curug, Tangerang Regency, Banten on Thursday (29/2/2024). The trial was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto.
As many as four classes that are the object of the simulation program, each class gets one type of menu for all its students. In front of the class, there is a board explaining the nutritional value of each menu worth Rp 15 thousand.
