REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Director of the Indonesian Political House Fernando Emas said that so far there are no provisions governing the ordinance governing the selection of the composition of ministers, whether it is from professionals or party cadres. But, according to him, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka put forward ministers from professional circles.
“During this time there are no governing provisions for the composition of ministers filled from among professionals or party cadres. Including which ministerial seats can be filled by party cadres must be filled from among professionals none is regulated so that it becomes a prerogative in determining,” Fernando told Republika on Friday (22/3/2024).
Therefore, he said, the determination of the allocation of the number of ministers for each supporting political party is the authority of the president. Where it is adjusted by the gain of seats in the DPR RI or the votes at the time of the last election.
Seeing that, as the winner of the 2024 Presidential Election, Prabowo-Gibran he values should determine some specific ministerial positions to be filled from among professionals. A number of ministerial positions need to be filled from among professionals in order to be maximally worked on.
There are several ministries that Fernando says need to be led by professionals, namely the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Villages and Backward Regions, the Ministry of Labor and Transmigration, the Ministry of ESDM, the Ministry of PU, and several other ministries.
“Filled from among professionals in order to be able to provide maximum benefits to the state and not exploited in the interest of seeking party funds,” explained Fernando.
He also said it was necessary for Prabowo-Gibran to do in determining the composition. The number two partner in the 2024 presidential election should place more professionals in the cabinet in order to more quickly achieve the programs promised during the campaign.
Fernando believes that Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Ishandar's party is now vying to join the coalition party supporting Prabowo-Gibran after being declared the winner by the Election Commission (KPU RI). If they join the Prabowo-Gibran coalition, then more and more ministerial posts will be filled by party cadres.
“If the political party that carries the number one presidential election joins the party that will be led by Prabowo-Gibran, there will be more and more ministerial posts that will be filled by party cadres,” he said.
