REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG — Election of chief deputy heads (regional elections) or governor-deputy governors (pilgub) of Central Java (Jateng) 2024 will not be attended by pairs of independent candidates (paslon). The General Election Commission (KPU) of Jateng Province said that there will be no individual candidates who submit conditions of support for verification.
Chairman of Jateng Provincial Commission Handi Tri Ujiono explained that until the deadline on Sunday (12/5/2024), at 23:59pm, there will be no mailings from individual lines requesting an application account for the Candidate Information System (Silon). This silon is intended for prospective candidates to upload the terms of support.
According to Handi, until the deadline on Sunday, no individual parties will submit support conditions to the Commission for factual verification. “No one came,” he said in Semarang on Monday (13/5/2024).
Handi said that the verified conditions of support will be needed for individual applicants to register with the Commission in August 2024. Registration for the upcoming 2024 elections to KPU Jateng will be open from 27 to 29 August 2024.
Meanwhile, at the district/city level of the Jateng region, according to Handi, there will be a number of individual lines applying for support conditions to be verified, namely in Sukoharjo and Tegal districts. “Subsequently, the Commission in the two areas will conduct a factual verification to determine the completeness of the conditions that have already been proposed,” he said.
